GWB Entertainment and Andrew Henry Presents have confirmed that Hedwig and the Angry Inch will unleash its raw energy at Sydney’s Carriageworks from 17 July 2025. This follows a smash-hit season at the 2025 Adelaide Festival, where it earned five-star acclaim across the board.
Hedwig and the Angry Inch will play at Melbourne’s Athenaeum Theatre from 13 June as part of Rising Festival.
Winner of the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical, this genre-defying sensation was hailed as the best rock musical ever by Rolling Stone. Featuring iconic songs including The Origin of Love, Midnight Radio and Sugar Daddy, this electrifying production was described by The Scoop as: “a rallying cry for self-acceptance, freedom, and love in a world that too often seeks to divide.”
As Hedwig, Seann Miley Moore (Miss Saigon) delivers a show-stopping performance. It was described as “lightning in a bottle” (InDaily) and “nothing short of astounding” (Australian Arts Review).
Alongside Seann is acclaimed performer Adam Noviello, known for Priscilla: Queen of the Desert, Matilda The Musical, and Jesus Christ Superstar. Adam plays Hedwig’s devoted yet defiant partner, Yitzhak and also covers the title role.
Hedwig and the Angry Inch features a blistering live band, razor-sharp humour, and a story that is as hilarious as it is heart-wrenching. It is set to be an unmissable theatrical event.
General public tickets go on sale for the Sydney season from 10am Tuesday 29 April at the official website.
