Four weeks of uninterrupted comedy brilliance begins as the 39th Melbourne International Comedy Festival gets underway this week! This year, 690 shows, made up of more than 1,000 performers will take part in the biggest dedicated comedy festival in the world. Across 182 stages in 133 venues, stand-up comics, cabaret, sketch, circus, improv, plays and more will entertain everyone from toddlers all the way through to really old people too!
From 26 March – 20 April, comedians from around Australia will call Melbourne their temporary home to make audiences laugh, connect, feel and contemplate. Over 130 international artists will join the Australians, from the best newcomers on the international circuit to the most in-demand award winners.
With tickets starting at $10, and an average ticket across the Festival around $35, the comedy festival is a great – and affordable – night of entertainment. There are ways to get a bargain at the Festival too:
Discounted preview prices are available for heaps of shows across the Festival’s opening week, from Wednesday 26 – Monday 31 March.
Discounts can also be found at selected shows and dates right through the Festival.
Tightarse Tuesday prices are available throughout.

On Friday 18 April, kick off the Easter long weekend with The (Very) Big Laugh Out – a FREE family-friendly event from 1.30-5pm on the Fed Square Main Stage, jam-packed with the best stand-up, physical and musical comedy performers for kids.
