PIP Theatre recently celebrated the launch of its 2026 Season in a significant moment for the independent company based in Milton, Brisbane.
With a season boasting over 30 productions running concurrently in their Level 1 Studio and Level 2 Main Theatre, PIP Theatre cements itself as a year-round hub of independent and contemporary performance.
PIP Theatre’s 2026 Season spans drama, comedy, musicals, cabaret, experimental performance and family-friendly work. With such a broad program, the season has been designed so that there is genuinely something for everyone – whether audiences are seeking big laughs, powerful storytelling, surprising adaptations, or intimate studio experiences.
Founder and Creative Director Deidre Grace said:

PIP Theatre was founded on the belief that theatre is not just something you watch; it’s something you share. It’s made by people, for people, and with people – in all their difference, complexity, and contradiction.”
The year includes work by internationally recognised playwrights such as Jesse Eisenberg and Marius von Mayenburg, alongside acclaimed Australian voices including Stephen Vagg and Joanna Murray-Smith, and local playwrights Bianca Butler Reynolds and Samantha Hill.
The season also features Gutenberg! The Musical! from the creators behind global hits including Beetlejuice: The Musical, and a local production of the hit play Trophy Boys, sitting comfortably alongside bold new writing and independent Australian stories.
Supporting emerging and mid-career artists remains central to PIP Theatre’s mission, with the venue continuing to provide paid opportunities, creative development, and platforms for artists to build momentum and take risks.

In 2025, PIP Theatre hosted 300 performances across 74 productions, welcomed over 11,000 audience members, and provided paid opportunities for 295 artists and crew. This reflects both the scale of the venue’s activity and its ongoing commitment to people at every level.
Alongside its main stage and studio programming, PIP Theatre will also see the return of its Children’s Theatre program. This includes shows for young audiences every school holiday – welcoming the next generation of theatre-goers into the building.
PIP’s 2026 Season is already underway, with Any Moment just wrapping in the Main Theatre.
