While many local theatre companies are just coming back to work after the festive break, the party never stopped at The West End Electric. Since its arrival in November, Blanc de Blanc Encore has been wowing audiences with its blend of comedic charm, dazzling circus acts and stunning cabaret performances. By popular demand, Blanc de Blanc Encore has just announced a season extension until 30 March.
Blanc de Blanc Encore comes from the minds of Strut & Fret, directed by Scott Maidment. It has gorgeous costumes designed by James Browne and clever choreography by Kevin Maher. Debuting in Sydney in 2016, the original Blanc show toured the country and also Las Vegas, London and New Zealand. Blanc de Blanc Encore premiered at the Sydney Opera House in 2019 and recently enjoyed an extended season at The Grand Electric in Sydney.
Exciting and unconventional, Blanc de Blanc Encore worked really well in the space, offering an up close and personal experience with fun audience involvement. I attended a capacity crowd VIP night, and the venue was packed with 400 party people all dressed in white! The upstairs bar area was a great inclusion for pre-show drinks or post-show chats so be sure to allow time to enjoy everything the venue has to offer.
Co-hosts Felix Pouliot and Remi Martin really knew how to work the crowd. Their double act was a highlight of the show, and their warm and engaging stage presence was a welcome recurrence between the acts.

Blanc de Blanc Encore was a show that builds and builds with each act perfectly placed throughout. Just when you thought things couldn’t get any better, along came the next act.
Jess Mews’ hula hoop act was exciting and didn’t give too much away for what was to come. Sasha-Lee Saunders was a great performer, she was engaging and magical and helped set the scene.
Jackie Chambers’ silhouette dance was crazy, I really liked it when she walked forward and the backdrop also moved with her. Her dancing was sharp and she had really nice storytelling skills.
I couldn’t take my eyes off Misha Makarov and his fantastic bone-breaking dance routine. It was not something I could usually watch, but this was an instance where I could not look away.
I admit I was low key scarred by Remi Martin’s percussion act. That said, he has so much charisma that it was impossible not to be drawn into everything he was doing.
Duo aerialists Spencer Craig and Caitlin Marion Thompson-Moylan performed beautifully and were insanely talented.
I loved that there were naughty, risqué moments every now and then which weren’t too overpowering. Blanc de Blanc Encore was the perfect blend of genuine talent and cheeky, fun cabaret vibes.

Blanc de Blanc Encore have just announced a new epic Hot Tub experience, offering views from a private room next to the stage called The Parlour. Available at select Blanc shows, it is perfect for groups of 4-6 people.
Blanc de Blanc Encore is a unique experience that doesn’t come around very often in Brisbane outside of festival season. It is the perfect show for a night out on the town with your friends, so if you haven’t seen it yet, get a group together and go see it.
Blanc de Blanc Encore is on now until 30 March at The West End Electric, 125 Boundary Street West End.
