What a night! Disney on Ice presents Find Your Hero is lighting up the Adelaide Entertainment Centre and turning it into a snow-dusted dreamland. From the very first spin, it is a delightful experience for the whole family. From start to finish, it’s filled with charm, colour, and favourite characters brought beautifully to life on the ice.
Mickey and Minnie open the show with a bang, full of energy and sparkle. They dance, spin, and light up the arena. Donald Duck and Goofy join in, bringing laughs with their silly falls and cheeky antics. Goofy has the crowd giggling every time he tumbles across the ice! Each moment is thoughtfully choreographed, with vibrant costumes, familiar songs, and impressive skating.
Then comes the Disney parade of favourites. One by one, the classics come to life. The Little Mermaid splashes in first. Featuring Sebastian the Crab, the mermaid princesses, followed by Ariel and Flounder gliding in with glowing jellyfish and sea creatures. Ursula wows the crowd as she steals Ariel’s voice, and Ariel soars up ‘to the surface’ on a trapeze ribbon, twirling like a star. Ariel and Prince Eric share a dreamy ice dance that melts hearts.
Moana and Maui bring the power to the show. Maui struts to You’re Welcome with flair, while Moana sails across the rink on a magic boat. She skates a fantastic dance to How Far I’ll Go, while the children in the audience sing along.
Next comes Tangled. Maximus the horse clip-clops around stage, marching with the ensemble and flags waving. Rapunzel and Flynn Rider dance their way around the ice. A breathtaking moment occurs whenthe floating lanterns rise into the air during I See The Light, creating a truly magical scene.
Beauty and the Beast follows with the arrogant Gaston puffing out his chest, Belle swirling and spinning, and Lumiere lighting up the castle. The Beast roars as the room darkens, then lights and music soften as the curse lifts. Belle and the Beast dance a beautiful duet to the title song, a classic Disney favourite.
And of course, Frozen is a HUGE favourite. Elsa’s performance of Let It Go is graceful and elegant. Falling snow and glowing snowflake effects on the ice turn the arena into a snowy wonderland. The adorable Olaf brings lots of laughter as Princess Ana and Hans toss his head to each other and then help him put it back on again!
Encanto is a high-energy segment, and includes the songs We Don’t Talk About Bruno and Surface Pressure. Luisa Madrigal brings gasps and laughter from the children as she lifts a large boulder above her head and drops it to crack apart on the ice.
The ensemble of ice skaters is fantastic, performing with precision and skill to bring each story to life. They add so much fun to the performances, dressed as animals, villagers, sea creatures, mermaids, ruffians and more.
Special effects are on show throughout the evening. Fireworks, flying lanterns, trapeze acts, smoke and sparkles. Every moment adds that extra layer of Disney magic. The show is packed with unforgettable moments. Kids laughed, parents smiled, and everyone left with stars in their eyes. My two young guests were in awe the entire time.
Disney on Ice presents Find Your Hero is a celebration; a must-see night of wonder that will have your whole family singing all the way home.
