It’s the world’s greatest musical numbers celebrated in an exciting spectacle of entertainment! With a brilliant cast of stars lighting up the stage, Off Broadway brings glitz and glamour, sparkles and sequins, inspiring electric energy and a flurry of feathers.

Featuring favourite moments from musical theatre, Off Broadway is presented by Base Entertainment and is now touring the country. Bringing together iconic songs, dazzling performances and spectacular staging, it takes audiences on a joyous journey through the magic of the musical stage.

Audiences will become a superstar, then tumble into a cell block tango, brave the phantom and get their name in lights. They will delight in knowing any dream will do, feel hopelessly devoted, sing in the rain and delight in a visit to a castle with a beast!

After they have driven with the Priscilla, they can time warp with the wicked lady in green, rock and roll with the band and wonder why, why did I ever let you go?

A true feast for all senses, audiences will be smiling until the final curtain as they are taken through a photo album ride via the bright lights of Broadway. They will lean out of their chair and listen to what song comes next, brimming with a smile from ear to ear as they recognise each tune.

Off Broadway had my group of guests clapping along, dancing and having so much fun, delighting in a joyous evening. Covering 24 musicals, the revue takes audiences on a whistle-stop tour through musical theatre history, from the Golden Age and the jazz-fuelled world of Cabaret to Disney favourites, the Swiss Alps and beyond.

Musical scores featured include Rodgers and Hammerstein, Fosse and Robbins, Andrew Lloyd Webber, and the contemporary characters that fly off the pages written by Stephen Schwartz.

Choreographer and performer Rachael Peters has assisted in putting together some incredible dance numbers. Stand-out moments came from Connor Micallef and the powerhouse vocals of Perri Espinoza.

The amazingly talented cast also includes Josephine Lopes, Bailey-Nathan Park, Imogen Doody, Alexander Thorpe, and Bridie Erwin-Keirl. The troupe brings a gift of happiness, as they open a box of musical memories.

At its heart, Off Broadway is a vibrant celebration of musical theatre, capturing the magic of Broadway while showcasing the extraordinary talent of its Australian cast.

Described as a love letter to the world’s greatest musicals, Off Broadway is a brilliant revue that reminds us of the art and beauty in telling stories through live performance. It is an evening of musical nostalgia at its best. What would life be without a song or a dance?

Wendy Samantha

Wendy is a passionate director, teacher and writer. She commenced her performing arts training at the age of 4 and has competed in countless musical eisteddfods, calisthenics competitions and performed in various concerts and productions which have allowed her to take to the stage at venues all over Victoria, including the Melbourne Arts Centre. She completed her AMEB piano and musical theory examinations at a very young age, then went on to study acting at Monash University, the CAE and with Actors’ Showcase. She has completed a bachelor of primary teaching / arts – majoring in drama, film and photography (Deakin), and a diploma of creative writing (ACJ). As a teacher she has worked for over a decade in many educational facilities including government primary schools, catholic colleges and as head of music in the private sector. She has received accolades for her work from the Theatre Guild of Victoria, Lyrebird Awards and the Herald Sun Teacher of the Year Awards. Her students have received the Helpman Award, several Glady’s Benson Memorial Trophies, the Peter Spyker Encouragement Award, Kingston Senior Encouragement Award, High Distinctions from the Trinity College of London, many Performing Arts Scholarships, and featured in Top Acts for VCE.

I absolutely loved Off Broadway. Such talented individuals. The choreography, singing, costumes and overall performances we first class. It was a beautiful tribute to the great musicals we all love. I would thoroughly recommend to go see it for yourself. Well done to the cast.
