Hello, gorgeous – the cast of Barbra: The Greatest Star is assembled! Kicking off the much-anticipated 2026 season at Hayes Theatre Co is this dazzling concert event, a heartfelt tribute to the incomparable Barbra Streisand.
With lush arrangements, bold voices and new perspectives on the songs you know and love, four remarkable performers will bring the heart, wit and sheer scale of Streisand’s artistry to the Hayes stage.

Hayes are marching their band out and beating their drum with this world-premiere concert event honouring a trailblazing musical storyteller, and the music that’s shaped generations.
Barbra Streisand is a uniquely luminous, uncompromising, and boundary-breaking talent. Barbra: The Greatest Star celebrates her peerless repertoire, legendary humour, and ground-breaking impact on music and culture, with the same fearlessness she’s shown on stage and screen for over sixty years.
More than just a tribute to “the way we were,” this concert offers audiences an invigorating new journey through the legacy of a true superstar, led by some of Australia’s most exciting contemporary voices.
Director and performer Brittanie Shipway returns to the Hayes to both helm and star in the show. This comes after acclaimed appearances in The Pirates of Penzance, The Lovers, and Big Fish, and directing Once On This Island and The Witches of Eastwick earlier this year.
Joining Brittanie in this stunning bouquet of voices are Tana Lagaʻaia, returning to the Hayes after his breakout debut in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and most recently seen touring nationally in Jesus Christ Superstar and RENT.
Laura Murphy, writer of Zombie! The Musical and The Lovers, with performance credits including Muriel’s Wedding the Musical, Cry-Baby, and You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown, will bring her celebrated artistic range to the stage.
Stellar Perry, completes the quartet following her electrifying performances in The Lovers, The Rocky Horror Picture Show and Jesus Christ Superstar, and appearances on The Voice, X Factor and Australian Idol.
With a live three-piece band backing these four powerhouse performers, this production promises to be much more than a tribute show. It is an illuminating journey through the legacy of a superstar.
