On the eve of Channel 9 Perth’s 60th anniversary, it has released a locally produced commemorative music video featuring a marvellous medley of its beloved theme tunes across the years, brought to life in a truly unique way by the Perth Symphony Orchestra.
The nostalgic tracks transformed include 9News, A Current Affair, Wide World of Sports, The Garden Gurus, Postcards WA and Just Add Water.
With special credit to Perth Symphony Orchestra’s Creative Director Fiona Campbell OAM and under conductor Greg Schultz, also Channel 9 Perth’s former Music Director, the video clip captures the ensemble in the recording studio performing the bespoke score. The overlay of historic program vision awakens nostalgic emotion, delivering a unique video clip that pays homage to the milestone.
Nine Perth’s Head of Marketing, Communications & TV Programming, Peter Brennan, said it has been a privilege to collaborate with the Perth Symphony Orchestra on this project.

This recording project marks the first collaboration between the Perth Symphony Orchestra and a media organisation on a medley of this calibre.

The video clip will feature at the end of the TV special Celebrating 60 Years, Channel 9 Perth airing tomorrow, 12 June at 7.30pm on Nine and 9Now.
