Strut & Fret’s incredible circus show, LIMBO, with its genre defying live band and cast of international circus superstars has returned to the Adelaide Fringe in 2025.
After a four-year hiatus, the show reformed in 2024, re-premiering at the Adelaide Fringe. LIMBO then went on to have two, huge, critically acclaimed seasons, first in Sydney at the prestigious Grand Electric theatre venue in Surry Hills. It was then hand-picked to open the recently refurbished theatre, The West End Electric, in the Brisbane’s West End for Brisbane Festival.
LIMBO has returned to Adelaide and its spiritual home in the Spiegeltent. In 2025 it has opened a week before the Fringe itself, running from 14 February and showing through to 23 March as the headline show of The Garden of Unearthly Delights.
LIMBO boasts something for everyone, from circus fans and Spiegeltent-devotees to live-music lovers and experience-seekers. This iteration is an exhilarating reimagining of the award-winning festival favourite that first premiered at Adelaide Fringe in 2013. Not long after it embarked on a world tour spanning five continents and 17 countries. The line-up for 2025 features an international cast of circus performers at the top of their field. It also includes some of the original cast from the first season.
Leading the three-piece live band and delivering an ecstatic heart-pounding live soundtrack, is New Yorker and Jank-maestro Sxip Shirey. Sxip composed the music in LIMBO and is thrilled to be returning.
“Adelaide audiences hold a special place in my heart, as they were the first to ever hear and see LIMBO, and they are a joy to play for. Performing as part of the Fringe is always wonderful. Being surrounded by incredible shows, in the wonderland that is The Garden of Unearthly Delights, it feels like coming home. I think this version of the show is the best it’s ever been and I can’t wait to be back sharing it with Adelaide.,” said Sxip.
The music, combined with incredible aerials, stunning dance performances and jaw-dropping stunts, delivers a feast for the senses. It will transport audiences to a realm where the line between heaven and hell blurs for an otherworldly experience like no other!
