Disney’s THE LION KING has set a new record, becoming the highest selling musical presale in Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) history, surpassing the record set by its own 2014 Brisbane season presale.
The outstanding sales landed even before tickets are more widely available to the general public, proving the enduring connection Queensland audiences have to this production.
General public ticket sales went live this morning at 9am via the website.
THE LION KING’s 2014 Brisbane season sold out its entire 19-week run and off the back of the obvious audience demand, Disney and QPAC has released the full 16-week Brisbane season today.
Performances are scheduled through to Sunday 7 March 2027 and no further extensions are possible.
THE LION KING, the world’s #1 musical, will bring with it the spectacle, artistry and unforgettable music that has redefined musical theatre on a global scale.
QPAC Chief Executive, Rachel Healy, said:

With general public tickets on sale from 9am today, audiences are encouraged to book early to secure their preferred dates and seating locations at the QPAC website.
Disney’s THE LION KING runs Sunday 15 November 2026 – Sunday 7 March 2027 at the Lyric Theatre, QPAC in Brisbane.
It is on now in Sydney and runs at the Capitol Theatre until Sunday 4 October 2026.
