A Night At The Musicals Returns To Brisbane This October

The Scoop A Night At The Musicals Brisbane

A Night At The Musicals returns to Brisbane Powerhouse this October with a brand-new cast, a live band and an exciting mix of new hits and Broadway favourites.

Following a successful Side By Side With Sondheim season in March, A Night At The Musicals returns to the Brisbane Powerhouse’s Underground Theatre from the 15 to 17 of October for four performances only.

The company’s signature variety concert brings together some of Australia’s leading musical theatre performers for an evening celebrating the best of Broadway and the West End, from iconic showstoppers to songs from the newest productions lighting up stages overseas.

This year’s concert features music from The Great Gatsby, Death Becomes Her, The Lost Boys, Paddington, giving Brisbane audiences the chance to hear these songs before the productions even reach Australian stages.

Producer Sophora Cliff said:

“I am thrilled to be staging a full length concert at such an iconic Brisbane venue, The Brisbane Powerhouse. We are combining incredible vocals from some of Australia’s top professional theatre performers with acting, movement, and storytelling. Expect big full-company numbers, solos and duets and more all inspired by some of the biggest shows currently running overseas.

After a recent trip to Broadway this year, I was fortunate to see some brand new musicals that we won’t be getting in Australia for a while, and I just had to try and bring a slice of that for the audience back home!”

The cast features Angelique Cassimatis (Beetlejuice, Chicago), Euan Fistrovic Doidge (Kinky Boots, Priscilla Queen of the Desert), Sarah Morrison (MJ The Musical, Come From Away, Mamma Mia!), Billy Bourchier (The Book of Mormon, Miss Saigon), Emily Monsma (Wicked, Hairspray), Jo-Anne Jackson (Titanique, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical), Liam J. O’Byrne (Disney In Concert), Erika Naddei (The Last Ship, Bananaland), Caelan McCarthy (The Narrow Road to the Deep North), Morgan Heynes (Cruel Intentions), Cody Arthur (Disney In Concert) and Sophora Cliff (Producer, Disney In Concert).

Backed by a live band under the musical direction of Michael Keen, the production will be directed and choreographed by Maryanne Nucifora, bringing together fresh staging, high energy and the excellent vocals audiences have come to love from the company.

With only four performances, tickets are expected to sell quickly.

A Night At The Musicals runs 15 – 17 October at The Underground Theatre, Brisbane Powerhouse. 119 Lamington Street New Farm Qld 4005.
